Part of the 29th Infantry Division (Virginia). Dude is almost 100!! It was a great speech. There wasn’t much left of the 29th after Normandy (when we were taught the Div’s history, leaders said that the Div had 90% WIA or KIA). He then was I guess part of the 75th Div. and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. It was amazing and definitely worth watching- incredible for how old he is. Link has multiple versions- the Fox one was the best view. As a side note, the 29th’s motto originated from calls by leaders on Omaha beach saying “29 Let’s Go!” to rally wave after wave to move forward under withering fire (led by the Bedford Boys of the 116th Infantry Regiment). ** Edited by reconhokie at 7/18/2024, 7:25:19 AM
