I just decided to google a question that I have had ever since

@Will Stewart, I believe, commented on not too long ago. Use only one space after the period. I will bet the farm that I was taught in typing class back in the early sixties that you should use two spaces after the period. From this point forward, I will only use one space as that does indeed seem to be preferred. And it saves space on the subject line.

Word has a setting for spellcheck to catch two spaces after a period now.
