Question for any and all pilots

@ B777Fr8dog and others: my youngest is exploring careers and would like to learn more about commercial aviation pilots. Career paths? Military? Commercial pilot schools (what to look for, recommendations?). Passenger or cargo? The good, the bad and the ugly about that choice? Thanks!
