Any of you guys look at recent college course offerings or schedules?
When I was in school at VT (mid-late 90s), pretty much all classes were 3 credits. Labs were 1 credit. Pretty much across the board.
My son in school now (not VT) seems to have most of his lecture classes as 4 credits. I have to admit, I haven't looked into graduation requirements and such, but on it's face it seems like he can get about the same number of credits doing about 75% of the work.
What am I missing?

If I recall, graduation required about 184-186 credit hours in 1974-5
