I've been watching the WW2 documentary on Netflix. Enjoying it, but it's

tough to strike the balance in my own thoughts between "I'd like them to go into more detail" and "If they did, it would be 150 hours or more." 2 examples. When they talk about North Africa, they spend some time on Rommel's advances and success. Taking Tobruk, etc. But that segment essentially concludes with "The British assigned Montgomery to North Africa, and that enabled them to stop and turn back the German advance." And for Midway, it was "The US had broken the Japanese codes and set a trap. Japan lost 4 carriers." Yes, they showed some battle footage, but nothing really about the tension in who will spot who first, the fact that the US carriers got hit pretty bad as well, how the battle was really touch and go regardless of the US code breaking success. I guess it provides a really good short form history for anyone with very little knowledge about the war, but for someone like me who has decent, but NOT extensive knowledge, it's probably too cursory.
