Anyone have a good way to meter your electrical usage?

Our bill seems higher than it should be, but we aren't quite sure what is driving it. The really mysterious part is a report from the power company indicating our greatest electrical usage period is midnight to 6am when everyone is asleep. The only way I see that making sense is if the emergency heat is kicking on the middle of the night, but I don't have a good way to track that. Is there a good way to track what things are using how much electricity and when in your home?

I don't know of a DIY option, but most electrical contractors...

A nice theory, except that only looks at one 120V outlet
Tafkam Hokie 11/16/23 04:53 PM ET
That works if you know which outlet you want to monitor
