This park is contiguous with Glacier National Park in Montana and so it looks very similar. A good part of it was burned in the recent past and the park itself is fairly small, so it wasn't quite as impressive as the other Canadian parks I visited. But it's got some nice views down the lake toward the U.S. and a few challenging hikes, and the little town in the middle of it has just enough shops and restaurants to make it interesting. The pics are all from the trail to Crypt Lake. 1 - the major draw of this hike: near the very top you have to cross a rock field, ascend a 10-foot ladder, inch your way through a 50 foot tunnel (seen in the middle of this shot), and then make your way along a cliff holding onto metal chains until you reach more level ground 2 - Crypt Lake - the far end marks the border between Canada and the U.S. 3 - the valley you ascend to get to the lake - you can see the trail winding its way along the slopes on the right 4 - Waterton Lake (I had to kayak to the left-hand shore to get to the trailhead), with the U.S. again at the far end
