MLB pitch clock and new rules
Last couple weeks are a great opportunity to compare the new and old rules with spring training games and WBC going on.
Pitch clock. Love it. Get in, throw the ball, let's go. Hitters, stop standing and spitting and playing with your gloves, pitchers, get the sign and let's go, stop staring in trying to disrupt the timing. May be a bit short and could be adjusted, but overall, good change. I don't care how long a game is, I care about it moving along. Was so annoying watching at bats drag on last night watching the WBC.
Limit on pickoff attempts. Not a fan. Shifts the advantage to the runner too much IMO and doesn't really solve a problem.
Banning the shift. Not a fan. The shift creates opportunities for great players to be great and for one dimensional players who only care about their stats to suffer. Learn to bunt, learn to go the other way. Watching Betts and Trout slap singles against the shift to manufacture a run last night was fantastic. Two of the biggest stars in the game, doing what they need to do to win.

It's tough enough to get a hit, but now you want them to direct it?
