Birdfeeder mystery solved, thanks to my stupid dog barking his fool head

off at 4:30 AM. There's a bird feeder outside my home office window that has had the strangest use patterns. I'll fill it. For the next few days, I'll see some birds come, but the seed level drops VERY slowly. It's still almost full. Then, wham, it goes from almost full to completely empty in <24 hours. I figure "OK, the neighborhood birds finally found it and really went to town" or "Yeah, a couple of squirrels cleaned it out" or something like that. But a couple of nights ago, our dog is going nuts barking out the front window at 11:30 PM, about an hour after we went to bed. We got him to quiet down, but then again at about 4:30 he's barking his fool head off. I go downstairs to shut him up and to bring him up to lock him in our room. I look out and there at the bird feeder is a pretty good sized buck. 8 or 10 pointer maybe? Don't ask me to be certain as, you know, it was 4:30 AM. I tap on the window and it runs 15 yards away or so. I herd the dog upstairs and next morning when I come down for real, that feeder is cleaned out. ** Edited by Late 80s Hokie at 3/1/2023, 11:49:43 AM
