Tipping rules while traveling on business
My specific question is do you request reimbursment for gratuities given to housekeeping, especially on extended stays? Do you pay cash or does the hotel offer a way to put it on the card?
I've never had the company have an issue with gratuities, especially with meals. However I've never been offered a way to pay a gratuity to housekeeping on my card as part of my stay. Usually will leave about $10/day of stay. Doing expense report and I got a nasty auto-generated messeage "YOU STILL PAY WITH CASH!?!?!?!?! THAT IS NOT THE PREFERRED METHOD!!!" (or something to that effect, I might be imbellishing). I always hate having to put in cash gratuities becaust it always seems to get the bean counters excited.
So do you submit it for reimbursment or eat the charge?
