Kind of lends some credence to what seemed true to me when we bought a new CRV and sold our civic last year, if you can find the new car you want, of it being a decent time to upgrade if you were planning to do so anyways.
When we bought last June, we had been thinking about it for a while so I was somewhat price aware, and it simply seemed like we maybe didn't get the best deal, but it wasn't way out of what I was expecting. On the other hand, we sold our ancient civic for a couple thousand more than I expected without a lot of effort (carmax).
