Did you ever hear the story about how BMW decided to put better air conditioning into their cars? (Might be a tall tale, but who knows?) Back in the 80s, BMW wasn't responsive to American dealer requests to put better AC systems in their cars. One of the BMW senior managers (possibly the president) was visiting Texas during the summer, and the Texas dealer picked him up in a new 7-series that he had disconnected the rear AC (so it was only putting out cold air in the front). The BMW exec got the message, and took that experience back to Munich. They started designing better AC systems in BMWs afterwards.
