It’s hard to compare players from any era

But guys like Gretzky, Ovi, Hull, Orr could play in any era. Who know what the older guys would do on better, faster ice with shorter shifts, better skates, less bulky pads etc. but I’m pretty confident Gretzky would still be one hell of a player today. And to soothe the caps fans, yes ovi is one hell of a goal scorer. If and when he breaks Gretzky’s record he’ll deserve it.
