Thanks...we'll see. If this one doesn't work out, I think I'm done trying.
This is the fourth dog we've tried over the past 3 years. The first one was a brand new puppy, and I knew it was a horrible idea, but I didn't want to be the bad guy. That lasted a week and my wife threw in the towel and took it back. The second one was a foster-to-adopt situation, but the dog was essentially a small horse that was very aggressive towards our daughter and also outright bit me, so it had to go. The most recent attempt was an overnight with a German shepherd that a neighbor's friend was looking to rehome. The dog wasn't bad, but it was a male and was quite "frisky". It also turned out that my wife and I were allergic to it, and we both got super congested within hours of it being in our house. So, that didn't work out, either.
If this one doesn't come around, it will be the last attempt I'm willing to make.
