Honestly, the worst part was trying to go south on a Saturday morning.

You had to 'get out of town' at certain times to avoid gridlock. To go south to get to Va Beach, you had to either leave before 2PM or wait until 8PM, but had to leave before 9PM or you got stuck in construction traffic. We called it golden hour, but it made for very long nights if you had to get to the Outer Banks.
