One last bit from me -
"detailed sketches" are not working drawings
I've spent 60 years associated with the building industry in one form or another, from 2 years in architectural drawing (high school) and 4 years in architecture at VT. I have held jobs as a plasterer's assistant, carpenter's helper, framing, maintenance and finish carpenter and interior/exterior house painter. I worked in two architect's offices. I've done hundreds of DIY home projects and I had dozens of general contractor, subcontractor, architecture firms, property management firms as clients in my 38+ photography years.
With all this, I wouldn't even dream of trying to build my own home from 'some detailed sketches'. We just moved into a home that was built for us, wherein we selected all relevant finishes and stuff, but this was an experienced developer who'd built communities like ours for decades, and had the working drawings and progress checks built into the process. They supervised the construction and managed all the subcontractors, code adherence and inspections, etc., in full.
Do it yourself? Caveat emptor, Tafkam.
