One of the comments mentioned a lack of fear, see inside for their quote.

"Difference between these riders and a normal human being, is that these riders are born without the “fear factor.” Their brain just does not recognize it, it’s the only way they can go this fast, crash, rehabilitate, and get back at it again." Personally, I'd rather tour that island on my Schwinn!
