Yeah, I thought it was crazy at first. But it looks like it is going places

It was brought about because local governments are spending the tax revenue willy nilly on whatever comes to mind, it seems. In the Keys, they buy up real estate, for example. There are never any calls to lower the tax rate or give rebates. What will likely happen, if this tax exclusion comes to pass, is the revenue will be made up by increasing the local sales tax. We know the government won't do without, or tighten up, ha. But at least everyone will share the pain equally. Oh, and one more thing I forgot - no taxes on groceries either. It might seem small, but it adds up.
