I sailed on on the Wisconsin's last cruise.

Just before she was to be decommissioned, she had a Friends and Family cruise. From Norfolk to off the Carolina's Outer Banks. During the 1st Gulf War, my niece was corresponding with a couple of enlisted men and an officer. They invited her for the last cruise.She and my sister took Dad along since he was in the Navy during WWII. I was able to wiggle my way on board also. Unfortunately, she didn't fire her 16's. She only fired her 5: guns and the Phalanx Close In Weapon System.
