He took up arms against his country to fight for a group whose sole purpose

was to maintain slavery. He no doubt had positive qualities but he does not deserve to be honored for his role in the Civil War. If we want to speak positively of his service in the Mexican War, battlefield tactics or his role in reconciling the wounds after the war I am happy to listen.
