Good luck!
If you want a list of intel / resources, and any recommendations, to help you better manage your roster and weekly decisions, let me know and I’ll send offline.
You’re a good dude and I definitely appreciate your efforts at your job.
I might have to deal with the back-to-school night auto draft, but you’re the (positive) reason I’m punting FF that night.
Big pic, it doesn’t matter significantly. Season-long FF is based on observation, effort, action, and really, common sense.
It helps to understand NFL team/ coaches/ players strategies and tactics. But there’s no cure for hard work. Or in this case, watching the games.
No matter who is on your roster at this moment, there are so many variables that play into FF, on a daily basis. Just today, beyond the 53 player limits effects, with Taylor setting his course for the next month+ on IR, whoever drafted him in your league just lost value on his draft pick by 10 spots (hopefully not you!) Again, that is just one minor variable.
In the big picture, you joined a community event that now brings together 12 or so people and their own families/ friends. Have fun. Watch the people who brag and then account for others’ success by luck or fate.
Hopefully that other is you, wryly smiling at your wins, given your efforts and common sense.
(Not a trash talker but always enjoy the EOS silence at payday lol)
a PS: NFL itself regularly evolves between and throughout each season. Taylor reinforced the latest change in that RBs are becoming less valuable over time (they’re not all worth paying $10-12mm a year, for some reason). That generally means that WRs develop less in terms of value over the course of a season- right now.
So, in drafts, focus on drafting top WRs in the first rounds. The game is won by identifying value in mid- to late- round picks. And 2 of the factors that play into draft pick value are the season long waning health effects on RB1s (meaning RB2/3/4 increase in value) and the fact that teams regularly run 11/12/13 packages where WR3/4s just won’t get enough targets compared to WR1/2s. Some teams can’t even field effective 3-receiver sets. So, we’re back to more significant WR1/2 value at comparable RB ADPs.
You drafted already, but now you have weekly waivers / FAs / trades where you can upgrade your roster as the season progresses. And we’re only talking RBs/WRs.
It’s a fun game. More time together with family and friends.
