I ahve not been to the Maldives but lots of friends have from there...

you are essentially paying for guaranteed great weather. If you are seeing deals, you are rolling the dice as it is a good chance it will rain. As for Kazakhstan, the one thing I liked was that it was a great mix of people. I always kind of joke it is the Star Wars cantina, with Russians, Arabs, Iranians, etc all around. And it still has some of the old Soviet feel with buildings and what not. If you want a break down on Ghana, I will always talk about that.
