You know how to fix that...
...Just don't give loans for students in majors that the school has a <50% placement rate. If you study art history, and only one person from that school will get a job in the field, then everyone has to pay their own way.
Schools should also have different prices for different majors based on starting salaries. If you are an engineer, your price would be higher than someone studying to be a teacher. At the end of your time, your student load debt should not exceed 4 years of your salary starting out in the business.
But that would require schools to reduces their staff significantly. That's where a massive amount of "bloat" resides in the cost of higher education.
