Well, define "simple"...
First, you have to manhandle 4x8 sheets of plywood into your house. That's one thing if you're doing this as the house is built, but if you're trying to add this look in an existing home, that's going to be fun. Additionally, in order to pull it off, you've got to install it in a manner that keeps all the edge seams flush, which usually involves screws spaced 8"-12" apart...but then you've got a bunch of exposed fasteners in your finished floor. So then you have to fill all the screw holes before you sand the entire floor really well. Then you've got to clearcoat it. None of that is necessarily hard...but would be a fair amount of dusty, smelly work. And as I said, if you're doing that in an existing home, it's not going to be a very pleasant place to be for the duration of the project.
