Tigers can get a boatload for him if he is healthy. Otherwise they lose
him for nothing at the end of the year. They gambled in the offseason and kept him thinking they could win short series in the postseason with strong pitching. At the time I thought it was a good gamble but then most of their pitching staff, including Skubal, got hurt.
Not sure who has the prospects and money (outside of the Dodgers) to make such a trade midseason but I suspect we are going to find out.
