ding, ding, ding, correct!
This was perhaps the worst display of sportsmanship ever! It happened to Nancy Kerrigan at the US Figure Skating Championships. TH’s ex-husband hired an assailant who struck NK’s knee with a police baton. NK recovered sufficiently to earn the silver Olympic medal later that season. TH won the US championship that year and finished eighth in the Olympics. She was later stripped of the US title and banned for life after the conspiracy.
