Dad was working at the Knickerbocker News in Albany and he got offered a job to cover the Bills for the Buffalo Courier Press in 1982. We even made it to training camp in Fredonia, NY and then in September the paper folded. A very nice lawyer in Buffalo, NY helped my parents get out of closing on a home in Orchard Park, NY and we stayed in our house in the Albany, NY area until Dad could land on his feet again. Two years later we ended up in Orlando, FL as Dad got a job with the Orlando Sentinel. I often think of what if it had worked out in Orchard Park, NY and we never made it to Orlando, FL.
