ding, ding, ding, correct!

There were 6000-12,000 lives lost in the Galveston Hurricane of 1900. Other big events include the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane, with approximately 3000 deaths each. The worst during most of our lifetimes was Hurricane Katrina, with approximately 1200 deaths in 2005.
