Having some overlap in the front teeth allows for some seperation of back teeth with chewing motions and can help with wear and erosion issues and is considered “ normal”. And end to end bite of front teeth could mean more wear to the back teeth from chewing motions as well as chipping and breaking of the edges of the front teeth. You didn’t mention your age or whether your dentist ( or you!) seem to be concerned about wear and erosion issues. “Point to point” of back teeth is a whole different issue and you didn’t mention which ( front teeth vs back). My understanding of the Invisalign process is that the teeth are incrementally moved with a series of trays that pressure the teeth in the directions in which they would create a more perfect alignment. Much of that is created by computer algorithms without a lot of input from the dentist/orthodontist… hence the ability for non specialist general dentists to provide that care. Those algorithms would generally be the same for both practitioners and specific to your particular case. So result for you would be more determined by your diligence in sticking to the plan! Are you more likely to stick to the plan if you pay more??🙄 I’d be more concerned about what tooth repair is being recommended for after the tooth movement. If it’s related to front tooth wear you will be talking about veneers and crowns. Possible same for back teeth wear. Be careful of what you would be getting into post-Invisalign! JMHO from someone who espouses minimal dental intervention.
