Not sure that's true re: health habits. We exercise more by appointment but
they probably exercised more in their natural daily habits just out of less reliance on the automobile and less reliance on people doing manual tasks for us. They often did manual labor for work and at home. We often do it for neither.
They smoked more, were in the sun more, and were less vain with "style". That's why they looked older IMO.
