I flew out of Dulles a couple days after 9/11...

It was the first day they scheduled flights after 9/11 about three days later. (They had scheduled practice flights the day before to try out new safety procedures...) I was the only one in first class on a flight to Italy. (the irony being before 9/11 all the regular seats were full so I had to burn more points and moved up to first class, which, darkly I didn't need to do i retrospect) I somehow managed to find my tour in Italy. The guy at the hotel I booked for after the tour looked at me in shock when I showed up. (that is, I found the hotel after I landed let the guy know I'd be showing up a week and a half later...as I said he had a very surprise look) ** Edited by `lag at 9/5/2025, 2:37:05 PM ** Edited by `lag at 9/5/2025, 8:40:08 PM ** Edited by `lag at 9/6/2025, 1:46:14 PM
