ding, ding, ding, correct!

Eric Liddell, representing the UK, won the 400 meters at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. He not only won the gold medal but also set a new world record with a time of 47.6 seconds. Prior to the Olympics, Liddell’s PR had been a more modest 49.3. The exploits of Liddell and others were the basis of the story in the movie Chariots of Fire.
