Not the song in my head, but I'll award a point for the correct artist

The band that would turn into Oingo Boingo started life as The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo (see Gong Show performance in the link below), created by Richard Elfman and later reimagined by his brother Danny, who would go on to an acclaimed career scoring movies and TV shows after leaving the group in the 1990s. For the record, the song was "Just Another Day."
