I was going to post my second son's last HS wrestling match

And I guess I effectively still did. He wound up losing a close decision that would have qualified him to go on to the state tournament. The realization that I'd never see him do it again smacked me hard. It wasn't so much the outcome of the match itself as yet another reminder of how fleeting and precious time can be. I remember that I hugged him, told him how very proud I was of him, and then I went outside in the parking lot and cried in my car for a bit before coming back into the gym. He's still playing soccer. For some reason I don't think that last game is going to affect me as much. But we'll see....
