My best friend has been playing that loophole.

He's been living in Mexico for several years and he makes sure to not eclipse the threshold for number of days spent in the U.S. during the calendar year that would require him to pay federal income tax in the U.S. I told him maybe if he would vote differently he wouldn't have to try so hard to avoid paying high taxes. Honestly, it kind of burns me up that Americans can avoid paying taxes and still vote.
