There are almost 8B people on earth. Simple statistics says some

small number of them will be either complete morons or highly gullible (or both). In the old days, some combination of social Darwinism and actual Darwinism would weed them out. These days, the information age is very empowering for them and they can exist quite safely behind a keyboard.
