it's a calculated economic decision

they know they are going to deal with more losses, but they calculated that the reduced labor costs will offset those losses. All this started before covid because of the $15 min wage thing and I know it's shocking that $15 is now become $21. Be happy these things exist, can you imagine trying to check out at pretty much any large store right now if they didn't have self check out. If it hadn't, there would be huge lines at stores because they can't get people to work.
