the Mclaren disaster from a decade ago. Forcing Honda into a poor engine architecture didn't work then and it's not going to work now. With the aggressive chassis/aero, he wants a shortened ICE and made them put the battery into split layers. They were already behind the eight ball based on timing...other teams were months ahead and as we saw during preseason testing, no other team had a body design that was a compact as AM. A late start and being put into a tight box for design, is generally not going to end well. Not that Honda doesn't have some flaws that need to be worked out on their end, but they know how to build an engine. I'm starting to think that Newey is reaching the end of his career. No doubt he is a legend of F1, but even Red Bull suffered early last year with the status of his design. He left Red Bull and suddenly their updates came to life and almost pushed Max to the Driver's Championship. Definitely not a good look for AM, given their endless resources. Just hope Stroll is not too proud to make Newey compromise, as this can't be only a Honda problem.
