Oldest son and his wife were in HRC. It's actually where they met. So that part is good from my perspective. 😀
Beyond the fact that participants might get higher consideration for certain student leadership positions, there isn't any discernible academic prestige that goes with it. My aforementioned son didn't see fit to complete the full Honors program but suffered no negative impact as a result. East AJ as a housing option is pretty nice. And my youngest will likely opt for it if he decides to go to Tech.
It's not the same thing that it used to be per the other response in this thread. It's mainly one of many "residential communities" that happens to be comprised of more serious minded students based on certain metrics. Although that doesn't apply to all residents.
