That's scary just reading about it. Thank goodness I haven't been inside of an inferno. I did shipboard firefighting and being in a completely dark space full of smoke definitely got everyone out of their comfort zone. We were also wearing OBAs, so we didn't inhale the smoke. If you aren't near an exit when it happens, there's a good chance you might not make it out.
