Heard that on the local news but apparently they got that number from a

Local shop owner who said something to the effect of “I heard there could be as many at 85 to 100 thousand people here” So it sounds like he heard someone say they thought it could be that so he said he thought it could be that much and voila, news headlines say “100,000 expected for Metallica” There certainly won’t be close to 100,000 in Lane. Probably not even close to 85,000.
