Little known facts: the first and last men to step onto the moon...

...were both (a) Naval Aviators, and (b) Purdue grads. Gene Cernan was the last man to step onto the moon. Gene was also the person who commissioned me as a Naval Officer. I didn't know where his place in history was at the time, other than he was an astronaut. I was walking through the Smithsonian Air Force & Space many years later where I discovered his unique place in history. His statue should be a "book end" to Neal Armstrong's statue...lol
