One of El Chapo’s own sons, Joaquín Guzmán López told him they were going
to look at real estate. Apparently the two had been tight for decades and they don't really know why Joaquín decided to betray his "friend". One theory I read is that he was trying to help his brother who was locked up when they caught the El Chapo.
