My '92 Pontiac Grand Prix had a similar issue (thread hijack)

I frickin loved that car. 4L V6 sport package and a HUD (which was AWESOME!!!). Got me from Bburg to Philly on 1 tank of gas (on fumes, but still). But first year of grad school in WI an electrical issue came up. Battery would randomly drain overnight. Took it to 3 garages, nobody could diagnose it. Took liberal advantage of my gf's Sam's Club membership for free battery replacement (they yelled at us after the 3rd time but hey, their batteries were guaranteed...). After stalling out enough times in traffic I threw in the towel. Put a new battery in and traded it in toward a...gulp...entry trim 2001 Chevy Cavalier...

Could be a stymied Johnson rod. See if the bearings have turned blue. **

You can try a bluetooth battery monitor to learn more about your truck
