I'd want to know what kind of steel is it made of.

Most I've ever spent on a knife is about $150, but it has been awesome. It holds an edge amazingly well. There are a lot of snake-oil sales pitches out there with cutlery these days. There are companies that are taking $15 knives, giving them fancy packaging and marketing, and selling them for $100+. A well-made knife made of quality steel ain't cheap. But a high price tag is absolutely no indication you have a well-made knife made of quality steel.
