My grandfather and his brother were on USS Utah (BB-31) that morning

It was one of (if not) the first ship struck by torpedoes. I'm told both made their way topside, slid down the hull and swam to shore. The Japanese were told not to waste ammo as she had been converted to a training platform. She was struck by two torpedoes and lies at the bottom on the opposite end of Ford Island.
