But it sure seems like discipline and toughness were lacking under Pry, so the bar might be pretty low.

If you look at his record as a head coach at Tulsa, it looks a lot like VT over the last 10 years (but worse actually) - a lot of mediocrity with one great year early on and a couple of turds thrown in for good measure.
He had 1 great year and one good year in the covid year. Otherwise, honestly, it looks worse than Pry to me.
