Can we snag JMU's AD and then go after Curt Cignetti at IU? Both
have connections in Virginia. Pry makes $4.5-$5M Curt makes $8M/year. Pay the extra money for a winner and instead of flushing it down the toilet on someone like Pry ** Edited by HokiePokie95 at 9/14/2025, 9:35:36 PM ** Edited by HokiePokie95 at 9/14/2025, 9:37:24 PM

JMU's AD retired. But he's a VT alum and IMO ought to chair the committee
or something. Jeff Bourne has a masters degree from Tech and worked here for about 10 years under Braine. He built JMU football from nothing, won 2 FCS championships and they're now one of the top G5 programs. Their success has been across 5 different head coaches. He built a program that as of late has been better than ours with a fraction of the resources. Plus they won a national championship in W Lax in 2019 and and M NCAA tournament game two years ago. And he hired Kenny Brooks before we did. Brooks, Byington, Cignetti and Houston were all great hires. ** Edited by hucareshokiesrul at 9/15/2025, 4:12:46 PM ** Edited by hucareshokiesrul at 9/15/2025, 10:15:48 PM

Why would he leave the Big 10?

$$$, Virginia & I would suggest VT is a sleeping giant to make a legacy.
He would need to find a way to get in-state talent but would need help with NIL to keep them.....or just keep loading up fresh batches of talent which are LSU bound after we get a year or two out of them.

Why would Cignetti leave the B10 to go to the ACC?
Doesn’t make sense

Nope. He was never the JMU AD. He played . . .
. . . baseball there and sort of started his career in sports marketing. Jeff Bourne was the AD there from 1999 to 2024. His successor is former VT tight end Matt Roan. ** Edited by MidloHokie at 9/14/2025, 10:40:08 PM

My mistake, it was Cincy and not JMU. I thought the reverse was correct
