VT has comparable facilities. However, VT is taking a different perspective. VT athletic campus is compact, all football and other sports and compact together. VT also culturally does not plan a monolithic football building separate from the rest of the program. Its home and community with all student athletes. UVA is going to spin it, we are the best and leading edge. rather its about time to invest in football. We are taking the approach, that you come to VT for home and community and we can offer you that and more. We are NOT looking at athletes who first thing in their mouth is how much bling you can provide. VT is looking for players that play for winners, captains of their high school team. However, UVA spin masters are great in changing the message.

Boar’s Head/Birdwood is sorta close but not really. Never been a fan of UVA’s campus. Too many bits and pieces strewn about a poorly designed downtown for the growth the university and town have had. Jefferson’s original quad may have been great but it’s not nearly as functional now as a modern university. UVA can’t really grow much more from an infrastructure standpoint…so they’ll continue to be “selective” I guess?
