radio because all of Tech's games were not on TV. My Dad and I making a 10-hour round trip to Blacksburg to see Tech play, say East Tennessee State University, in early September because we were still on the quarter system and school didn't start until late September. The excitement I felt when Tech made that Peach Bowl and played Miami in 1981 and it was on National T.V. (Even though Curt Gowdy called us the "Techmen" from Blacksburg, West Virginia when the Hokies ran out on the field). Occasionally finding a bar that had this thing called cable that allowed me to watch a Hokie Game on TV. Ahhh, the good old days! I could go on and on. Loved the simplicity! Also, I always put peanuts in my coke (that was in a 6-oz bottle and not a plastic bottle or can :>)
